As parents, you have a lot on your plates. You are the CEO, COO, Chef, Event Planner, Chauffer and Maid. You are also the CMM (Chief Memory Maker) and the Historian. I don’t know about you, but the Historian is the one that falls behind for me when things get busy.

As a parent, you take countless videos and pictures of your kids. Then what? If you are like me, you post a few individual photos and videos on Instagram and Facebook, then download them and they sit on the computer. Below are a few ways to really bring your photos and videos to life and help document your memories for years to come.

1. Use Apps

There are many apps out there that can create video montages and collages for you. An app that I love is called PicPlayPost. With this app, you can quickly put together a collage of pictures. It is great because you can also include video clips. Imagine having a day at the pool with your kids. You want to share 4 pictures and a video of your child doing a cannonball into the pool. You can do this in minutes with this app. It truly brings the pictures to life and is a great way to share memories with your friends and family on social media. It is also super easy and fast which is so important for busy parents. Below is a quick example of one that I created at an event that I went to with my business partner Beth’s daughter.

2. Use your computer

Not too long ago, creating videos was a task that would require a professional. Technology has advanced and now putting together a video is really as simple as dragging and dropping. It can be time consuming, but you have full control. There are numerous movie making programs available that you can download to your computer or use online to make these videos. I use iMovie for Mac, but a few others that would be good for beginners are Animoto and Adobe Premiere Elements. You upload the videos and pictures that you want to include as well as some music that you like. Most programs have two options, an option that will quickly make the video with minimal effort and an option that you have full control yourself. Sharing your final video on social media is also easy with these programs. Below is an example of one that I created recently of my son Taylor:

3. Hire a professional

Although it will cost you money, hiring a professional will help save time and get you an amazing product. One company that I recently discovered is called UrLife. They turn your memories into a Hollywood Style Movie Trailer which is such a fun way to bring your memories to life. Perfect for a birthday party, family vacation, reunion, graduation, or any other event that you want to document. Below is quick example of one that they made for me recently. The video is a week in the life of me and my business partner. We also are doing a giveaway on our blog until 8/15/15.
