Most Fashionable Mom Blogger of 2013

This year, we are proud to announce one of our favorite all natural fashion mom blogger of the year, Ida Cabiati, owner and creator of the Mrs C of Mrs Jack of All Trades blog. After winning the contest that got her the most votes in the fashion/beauty mom blogs category, we had a small interview with her and here’s how it went:

1. How long have you been passionately blogging and what triggered this journey?Top-fashion-mom-blogger

I was a TV Producer back in my home country (Malaysia) and I had to bid farewell to career when my husband (who is a pilot) got a job here in Dubai about 9 years ago.  The boys (my twin sons) were just 6 back then and just about to enter elementary school  and both me and my husband thought that I should be at home to be with them.  I loved my job and after a few year not working I kind of missed doing something but didn’t want to let go the privilege of being at home with my boys. So, about 2 years ago, I launched this blog  just to fill my time when I started to have plenty of it as the boys entered high-school.

2. Has blogging helped your projects in any way and if so, what or how?

The blog somehow became a project of mine and my twins’. My husband since he flies, couldn’t be my regular photographer and the twins started to take turn to take pictures for me.  They were so much into it and were fighting for turns! It was a blessing for me somehow especially as they grow bigger they got busier with school and more independent and I was hoping to find something to do with them. So, you can say this is my way of getting some ‘mommy/son’ time with my twins.  After all these years, they are still my blog photographers!

3.What has been your most favorite project? Why?

I bought a pair of denim jacket last year’s summer, a piece of which I was not even sure I would wear and started looking for some inspiration on how to pair it.  So, I started a self imposed challenge to pair it as many times as possible. I found a few celebrity pairings and use them on the blog as inspiration to pair my jacket by using whatever pieces I already had in my closet.  It was fun as I actually found some pieces I’ve forgotten I had! I have to tell you that the denim jacket became one of the best items I’ve ever spent money on!

4. How did you get to become so good at doing what you do?

How do one rate a good blogger? By the number of followers? By sponsorship?  I do not have both honestly, what I have is passion, commitment and sincerity. Passion is important and with it comes commitment but above all I try to be true to myself all the time – a mother and a wife that loves fashion and try to look good and practical in her everyday life. It is easier to write and come up with a post when you write about something you are passionate about.

5. What do you feel has been your most rewarding moment as a fashion blogger?

I have to say that this mention as Top Fashion/Beauty Blogger 2013 is by far the biggest highlight in my blogging involvement. I have so many supporters I never thought I had and I am very honored to know that somehow there are people out there that could relate to me and actually read my thoughts on the blog!

6. What advice could you give other fashion bloggers towards a path to success?

Blog about your passion and keep going.  Don’t get demotivated by the number of followers because it is better to have a handful of regular readers than many that never return.

7. How do you feel about being chosen as the TOP Fashion/Beauty Blogger of 2013?  What do you hope to gain from it?

Humbled and honored. I hope this gives better exposure for the blog and it definitely motivates me to do better and to keep on blogging!

I hope her blog inspires you as much as it inspires us. As a mom, it’s important to feel good about yourself. If you let the fashionista in you do its job, you will surely have a more confident, fuller lifestyle. So go on, take the first step and let this fashionable mom inspire you to look and feel beautiful.

It is great to see someone who blogs just because they love it– rather than to make money :) (Nothing wrong with money, of course…but passion shows through when someone is doing, or writing about, what they love.)

I love that your sons help you take your photos! That’s great that they are so involved with you in your blog. I think it makes a wonderful family activity.
