Kids hygiene can easily be missed, because most of them don’t care enough to be clean. Many kids just want to play or do other things, rather than worry about germs or even smelling nice. However, kids learn by example. So sharing some of your own hygiene habits can help them learn to incorporate it in their own lives as they grow.

Here are 4 easy hygiene habits to share with your kids:

  1. Hand Hygiene
  2. It can be shocking to see adults walk out of public restrooms without washing their hands. Experts say one of the main causes of passing harmful germs and bacteria is through hand contact.

    Even with proper training, many children have to be reminded to wash their hands after going to the restroom, touching something dirty, or even being outside. Older kids can also keep a little bottle of hand sanitizer with them in case they are in a place without a sink.

    Parents can guide their kids towards proper hand washing techniques by observing them and showing them how much soap to use, how to get it covered throughout their hands, and how wash it off.

    Although parents do nails for younger children, older ones should be taught how to trim their nails properly and how to keep them clean.

  3. Deodorize
  4. We all remember being in middle school and learning about puberty and the importance of hygiene. It was probably the time that most people got their first stick of deodorant.

    While teenagers are more prone to perspiration and body odor, younger children can still harbor bacteria under their arms that can stink with perspiration. Antiperspirants are probably too strong for younger ones; however, a mild deodorant is helpful.

  8. Hair is one of the areas of your body that gets dirty as soon as you wash it. Oil builds up and eventually odor could be hard to miss on it. Unfortunately, there are many kids, especially younger ones, that just don’t like their hair to be touched and washed.

    Even hair care can be a fun experience for your kids. Some kids love feeling grown up and in charge of being able to take care of themselves.
