10 Classic Father’s Day Gift Ideas that Won’t Hurt Your Wallet

As much as I love my dad and hope to give him everything he wants, I sometimes end up having to stick with being creative. I usually will make a checklist of things I know he’s mention over the past few months or things I know he’d been eyeballing for a while. Just to give you an idea, I came up with a list of gift ideas I would pick for my dad or even my husband for Father’s Day:

1) Round of golf

Dad-GolfMany men just want a few hours to relax, have a few beers, and just hang out with their buddies. Paying for a round of golf can cost less than $100 and last a good 5 hours at a nice golf club. Some might even throw in some lunch with it!

2) Tools

My dad and my husband both love their cabinets full of different types of tools. My husband always tries to compare my love for makeup with his love for tools, “you like the variety and the different possibilities they offer.” Guys who like this sort of thing could easily appreciate nice Craftsman tools that you can usually find at a discount price at Sears.

3) Rent a Classic Sports Car for an Hour

Many guys would love to be able to just know what it feels like to be in that sports car of their dreams. There are many unbelievably beautiful cars you can rent for a short time so your dad or husband can feel young and vibrant (even if it’s just for a short time).

4) Pair of Comfy Clothing

You can’t go too wrong with stylish, but comfy clothes, especially ones for the Summer. Sporty shorts that they could wear to the beach AND the bar will go great with some nice Reef sandals.

5) Wash, Wax, or Detail His Car

Have you ever just hated going anywhere simply because you didn’t want to go into your messy car? Dirt and mess can sometimes remind you of the rest of the dirt and mess that’s going on in your life. Sometimes it’s a relaxing feeling just to be able to slip into that little clean and de-cluttered space and take a nice, peaceful drive.

A washed and clean car can do a lot for someone’s stress level. So take a few hours (or even take it to a nice car wash) and make the car cleaner than it’s ever been!

6) Coupons

This may not cost you a thing, except maybe some time and maybe humility, depending on how creative you get with it. You can create some lovely coupons catered towards your husband or dad’s likes or dislikes. Here are some coupon gift ideas that you can put on a nice cut out or maybe even have personalized ones that include having the house cleaned, 4 course cooked dinner for dad and mom (or date), or a future car wash …

7) Ball Game

Most men love some kind of sport. Perhaps you can surprise them with ball game tickets, which can start as low as $20 a seat (sometimes even less), depending on the game and sport.

8) A Subscription to His Favorite Magazine

There could be many reasons your husband or dad hasn’t subscribed to that magazine he finds so interesting. Playboy? Sports Illustrated? Whatever it is, perhaps a great gift would be an exception to whatever the rule for not getting it is?

9) Gift Certificate to His Favorite shop

Gift certificates are fantastic gifts because they can choose whatever they want. Plus, you can’t go too wrong with it 🙂

10) BBQ with His Favorite People

Having some beer and drinks with BBQ around friends and the amazing people in your life.

So there you have it! If you didn’t know what to get dad for Father’s Day, perhaps the above will help!
