6 Myths About Stay At Home Moms
I remember when I was a new stay at home/work from home mother, I was asked the question, “What are you going to do with all your free time?”
Did they mean those precious seconds in between feeding your baby and changing their diaper? That kind of free time?
Somehow people get into a mindset that because you are staying at home with your children, life suddenly becomes a free for all. In my dreams.
There are a lot myths circulating about stay at home moms, I’m here to debunk them and I’m giving you 6 reasons why.
Stay at home moms have plenty of time to work out.
Just because we wear yoga pants doesn’t mean we are hanging out in yoga and pilates studios all day. It is more likely we slept in them and didn’t have a chance to change once morning arrived. Furthermore, let’s face it, they are comfortable.
Stay-at-Home Moms prepare nutritious homemade meals for their families every night.
Stay-at-Home Moms have no excuse to have a dirty house.
I completely agree – no excuse at all, ESPECIALLY when multiple children are simultaneously projectile barfing and the dog has diarrhea. (insert evil manaical laugh)
Stay-at-Home Moms sit around surfing Pinterest boards.
Stay-at-Home Moms watch TV all day.
Stay-at-Home Moms will regret the years lost from the work force.
I have never met one mother that regrets the time she took to be with her children. While the financial effects may be felt on the family, the benefits far outweigh the hardship.
Whether or not one chooses to work outside or inside the home, we are all in this mothering gig together. We are a force to be reckoned with and that my friends, is not a myth.
